Our Project, Our Vision, THE NEW MOSTPOWERFULCOMPANY.COM concept!!!
January 13th, 2009The world’s most powerful company.com has started out as a way to classify the “powerful” image of the world’s largest companies in the eyes of consumers.
The realization of that idea was to create a bidding contest/war between the biggest companies in the world in order for them to claim that title and prove to consumers that they actually had that power. The platform of that bidding war was the actual title/website of themostpowerfulcompany.com
What we did at first was to just create a page, with a central animation giving the main rules for the bidding process and detailing what the prize was. Then we created a poll to bring some interactivity with the users.
But as time went on, we realized that users did not feel implicated enough within the website and their vote did not count enough. We also realized that the guidelines and the why of the website were not expressed clearly on the page. Another repulsive factor was the color of the website, BLACK, which made it even more rigid.
Therefore we had to come up with a NEW CONCEPT with clear objectives:
-give out clear guidelines of what is this website for and place these strategically
-bring more interaction with the user
-create a more colorful and enjoyable website to surf on
Clear New Guidelines
-Companies bid to gain the hosting of the domain name for one year and therefore the title of the world’s most powerful company. The highest bidder wins.
-Their bids will be strengthened by the polls.
For example if Google bids 1000$ and they have 20% of the votes in the polls, they will get and extra 200$ which will place their bid at 1200$.
This way, users can participate in the bidding process and suport the companies they believe are the most powerful ones. Each IP address, meaning each user, will get 5 votes.
More Interaction withe User
-The user now participates in the bidding process
-2 times a week, we will add the profile or fun facts about the large companies that surround us (Microsoft, L’Oreal, Coca-Cola…). Those profiles will be shown on the website as well as on our Blog and will help users choose who to vote for and why. We will try to detail the reasons why each company is powerful and what influence it has on its industry, on its customers and on the world in general.
The Design of the Website
If i could get some feedback on how what colors would fit the “powerful” profile of the website it would be great.
We have gotten a lot of messages of support as well as hate messages and we welcome any comment, good or bad, that you can have on the concept or the website itself.
